Catching Up!

WOW!  Over a year since I have posted!!!  The sad part is, is that I felt a little relieved when I noticed that I was not the only one that hadn't updated their blog.  I only have a few in my news feed that are still blogging!  I think that is AWESOME!!!

Not much as changed.  The girls are getting bigger and more independent (so they think!)  Ryan is still shooting animals and hanging them on my walls, and I am still working with preschoolers.

Ryan and I are now teaching Sunday School in our ward.  We are working with the 16, 17, and 18 year-olds.   It has been a joy to get to know them better!  Last week we were talking about journaling and how it will effect our families.  As part of the lesson, I gave them a challenge to write in their journals/blog/etc, at least once a week (and if they did I would bring them a treat!)  With all of the technology and social media, we are technically journaling everything, everyday, but I wanted them to really spend some time writing their thoughts and experiences about the week.  Who knows who will be reading it someday.  So with that, I have been thinking about my blog all week; how I haven't updated for a very long time, and how I wanted to get back to it.  Someday, I even want to make a book out of it for each of my girls.  It's good to have goals I guess!  Anyway, here I sit on Saturday night at 10:15 pm, trying to fulfill my part of the challenge.  I hope to do better over the next couple of weeks, and who knows.....maybe I'll even get caught up!!!

Summer Fun 2013

Yes, I know....I am still behind, but I am slowly trying to catch up!

Some of the fun things we did during the summer!

Our cousin KaCey came to spend a few days with us.  Hallie and Remie had a great time playing with her.

Each summer we go to the Drive-In, in Riverdale, with lots of our neighbors!  This year we watched Despicable Me 2.  It is so much fun to take all of our blankets and pillows and pile in the back of the truck, and hang out with our friends.

Rylie being a cheese ball, as we wait to get in.

We also went to the splash pad in Providence....great place to cool down, on those HOT summer days!

Rylie Plays Softball June 2013

Rylie had expressed some interest in playing softball this year, but I had missed the sign up days.  Fortunately, a friend of ours had a girl drop out on their team, so we were able to get Rylie signed up!  She had a great time and did a wonderful job!  This was her first time ever playing.  Unfortunately,  these are the only two pictures I got of her playing the whole season.  Sometimes I think I should be fired as a mom!!  Such a slacker!

Millville City Days 2013

Every June, Millville has it's "Millville City Day"  They have a parade and a lot of fun activities at the South Park.  This year we walked down to our friends house on Main Street to watch the parade.  The funny part is, is that the parade only lasts about 10 minutes.  It is very cute!

Sydnie's 8th Birthday Party at the Fun Park 2013

After the craziness of May had worn off, Sydnie finally got to have a "Friend" birthday party at the Fun Park!  She had waited so patiently for it....ok, maybe not that patiently.  She asked me every day, about it.  She planned it, prepared it, and knew exactly what she wanted to do.    Here are a few pics of the fun we had.

Spring Dance Revue, June 1st, 2013

All four girls are involved in dancing....am I nuts.....maybe a little!!!  So as you can imagine, life gets kind of crazy trying to get everyone to all of their practices.  This year both Rylie and Sydnie were in competitive dancing.  They each had 2x a week practices (and of course they had to be on opposite days) and competitions that they were involved in.  This year the company that they danced for...Starrsteppers, did a production show of Alice in Wonderland.  It was a combination of the old and new Alice's.  Sydnie was the younger Alice and Rylie was a Cheshire Cat.  For both of them we had to attend make-up classes, where we learned how to apply their make-up so everyone looked alike.  Fortunately for me, Sydnie's make-up was super easy and didn't take quite as long.  As for Rylie....that was not the case.  She had the hardest make-up out of all of them.

Rylie not be impressed with her make-up....we had it down to about 45 minutes after the 4th time of putting it on.  Whoot! Whoot!

Tremonton @ Bear River High School, in April.

Here is a link to a you tube video of the production that the studio put together

Rylie and Sydnie also performed part of their finale at their school
Talent Show with their dear friend Brooklyn.

Besides all of the madness surrounding their production number, they both performed Jazz numbers.  Fortunately their classes performed together, so it made my life a little easier.

I don't want to forget about the twins!!  This was their first year of dance.  They loved it, but apparently they were turds during class and could never dance by each other because they were naughty.  They must get that from their dad!

Sydnie's Baptism June 1st, 2013

On June 1st, 2013, Sydnie was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  We are so proud of her and the decision that she has made to be baptized.  She is such a wonderful young lady and a great example to her sisters.  She loves to help them, for the most part!  She enjoys learning new things and most of all being outside with her dad!  We are very proud of you Sydnie!

Sydnie was baptized and confirmed by her dad.  Such a great day!

We had dinner at the North Park Pavilion, with family and friends.  We had Papa G makes is famous "Milk Can Dinner."
