Sydnie Turns 8 while camping at Devil's Creek

We have a Memorial Day tradition, which takes us to Devil's Creek Reservoir.  This year was no exception.  We went May 24th - 27th, 2013, and spent the weekend with Grandma Shirley and Grandpa Von, and Julie and Brian, and their family.  The weather was wonderful and the best part, was that Sydnie turned 8.
(I hope she enjoys spending her birthday in the great outdoors, because that seems to be a tradition too!)

Remie and Hallie, relaxing in Grandma Shirley's chairs.

Crafting - making pens for mom to take to the preschool.

Sydnie and Brinley

Sydnie - waiting very patiently to open her gifts.  She picked what we had for dinner that night, turkey fried steaks with stuffing....

Our neighbor Katelyn, Hailey, and Rylie also waiting to open presents

I guess one of the perks of having a birthday while camping, would be that you get to have cobbler for your cake. (Atleast mom thinks it is one of the perks, cause she didn't have to worry about a birthday cake! Whoot, Whoot!)
Sydnie wanted her dad to make a cherry chocolate cobbler, which was delicious!!
Happy Birthday Sydnie!! We Love You!!

Christmas Eve 2012

Finally, Christmas Eve!!  The girls were so excited.....until it was time to actually see Santa!  We usually spend Christmas Eve at Grandma Shirley's, having dinner, making a craft, waiting for Santa, and playing Bingo.  This year was no different.

Santa Arriving

Waiting for him to call our name....oh, the wait!

Sydnie and Brinley leading us in a song Christma songs.

Still waiting for our turn!  However, now they are sitting on my lap instead over on the couch.  They definitely want their gift but are not sure if they want to go get it.

 Hallie & Remie

Hallie, much happier to be telling Santa what she wants.

Remie, now ok to sit on his lap.

Once Santa leaves, the kids get to open their gifts.  They get new pajamas to wear that night. This is Hallie sporting her new pajamas.  Now she is helping mom and dad play bingo.

Famous Idaho Potato Bowl 2012

As I have mentioned, we love the USU Aggies.  This year, the football did amazing, and made it to the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, again!!  The only better, then going last year, was they were able to come away with a win.  Very exciting.  This year we also went with Ryan's parents, and had a fabulous time!!

Seeing Santa

Each year we get together with Ryan's mom's side of the family.  We get to tell Santa everything we could ever want for Christmas, eat KFC, and hit a pinata.  We have gotten better about actually sitting on his lap, but we don't have to be happy about it.

Remie...doing what she does best.

This year, the girls were able to wear their costumes to dancing.  This is Hallie and Remie wearing theirs on Monday.  Remie was much happier, once candy was involved.

Carving Pumpkins.   Dad carved pumpkins with the girls on Tuesday night, while I was at Young Women's. I came home to some very wonderful looking pumpkins!!

One More Birthday Party

On the 7th of July we went over to Grandma Shirley's.  Our cousins were here from Illinois for our Cousin Gunner's baptism.  We also celebrated Hallie and Remie's birthday....one more party!

Aunt Julie got the girls umbrellas.  I ended up with one in my bed the next morning.

Grandma got them new fishing poles.  We will definitely get some use out of them....and hopefully they won't fight over them now!
