Mystery Photographer

So we have had a mystery photographer at our house over the last couple of weeks.  Every time  I get on to post pictures, I have new, mysterious pictures.  These are the latest.  I have have to admit, she or he is getting better.

Hallie - 1st attempt

 Hallie - 2nd attempt....much better, don't you agree?

This would be Hallie's baby.

And our mystery photographer is........
SYDNIE!
She thought she was so funny this morning, when I caught her with the camera.  It would be a little more funny, if she wasn't using our good, expensive camera.  I guess we know what to get her for Christmas!  Silly Kid!

New Profession

With having four girls, you would think that at least one of them would, or will, like to do hair.  Right now I have to plan 2 hours ahead just to get everyone ready and out the door.  Well, Sydnie has been trying to do hair.  She actually "loves" to do it.  She has been practicing on the twins...and the funny part is, is that they actually let her do it!

Sydnie will put a little pony tail on top, not quite tight enough to hold all of their hair in, and so then she will put all of the bows in, to hold the hair that doesn't stay in the pony tail.  I have to admit, she does a pretty good job!

I wish I had a picture of when she does her own hair.  We have been trying to grow her  bangs out over the last couple of months, and so she will put barrettes and bows in the top of her hair, to hold back all of her bangs.  Next time she does it, I will try to get a picture!

And maybe my 2 hour prep times in the mornings, are coming to an end!  I will finally have someone to help!

Sydnie's Long Awaited Birthday Party

Sydnie has been anxiously awaiting her friend birthday party.  She just turned 6, and because she has a slacker mom, has never had a friend birthday.  So starting in March, she started planning her party.  She knew exactly what she wanted to do, what she wanted to have, and who she was going to invite.

I told her she had to wait until school was out, due to life being a little less crazy.  So she waited so patiently....well, kind of patiently.  Every day, "Mom, how many more days until my party." :)

She decided that she wanted to have a swimming party in the back yard, but as it got closer the weather was not cooperating.  We have had a very wet, and cold spring.  So we watched the weather reports, and on the day she wanted it, it was suppose to be very cold.  I tried to talk her into moving it to the "Fun Park," but she was not going to have it.  She wanted a swim party.  So we had to postpone a week.

Once the day was finally here, she had a wonderful time with all of her friends.  We had two swimming pools, a slippin' slide, plus the sprinkler under the tramp....oh, and don't let me forget the water balloons....Oh, the water balloons.  Reminder to self....you can never have enough water balloons.  We had a line for balloons, for the whole party.  (Thanks to my dear neighbor who ended up coming over to help me fill water balloons!!)  Fun was had by all.....and we are still cleaning up the extra balloon pieces all over the lawn.

The line-up for balloons!

Camping Up Blacksmith Fork Canyon

We attempted another camping trip, since our first one this year, was kind of a bust.  We went up Blacksmith Fork Canyon.  We went up Left Hand Fork, because the rest of the canyon was closed.  We had a wonderful time. The weather was great, and we were with great friends.

The first day we were there, Rylie and Sydnie hiked up the hill behind the trailer.
This was Sydnie and her friend Bradley coming down the hill.  They made it all the way to the big tree at the top.  They are the two little black dots, about half way down the hill.

Hallie and Remie, spent most of the time, going in and out of the trailer.  They thought they were pretty funny.  This is Hallie peeking out.

Sydnie got to shoot her new gun, that she got for her birthday.  She thought she was pretty cool stuff.

Bradley wanted in on the action as well.

When the twins were not going in and out of the trailer, we could find them sitting on the 4-wheelers.

When the Kids are Left Alone

It's really is quite funny what you may find on your camera, when your children are left alone with it.  I was going through pictures, trying to decide what to post, when I found the following pictures.  I am not sure who took them, Rylie or Sydnie, but I had to chuckle....

We were getting ready to go somewhere, and the girls were waiting so patiently in the truck...as you can tell.

Sydnie Graduates from Kindergarten

Sydnie graduated from Kindergarten on June 1st.  She was so excited, and we are so excited for her.  She has been in Miss Jones' PM class this year and has loved every minute.  Syd has done so well with school this year, I hope she continues to enjoy it.  If not it is going to be LONG 12 years!

Newest Member(s) of the Barfuss Family

I have been waiting a little while to see if Ryan is actually going to blog about this subject, but since he hasn't, I am taking it upon myself to post it.  We have a new member of the family.....well actually two, since that is the way we do things around here......

This is Ryan's Antelope that he shot in Wyoming last fall. We haven't named him yet....although, Ryan might have.

And this is Scott's Antelope that he shot on the same hunting trip....and yes, it is hanging on my wall as well.

I will spare you all of the details as to why I have two, but I do know Scott's rent is coming due! :)

1st Camping Trip of the Season

We just got back from our 1st camping trip of the season, which I have to admit was a complete  bust!  However, we have bought a new toy that made it a little more enjoyable......

We have actually been looking at trailers for a little while now, and Ryan told me that if I waited another year (keep in mind this was in January), that I could buy a brand new one.  We had been looking at used trailers, and so I was up for waiting.  However, one night after school Ryan called me to say he had found a trailer and I needed to come and look.....long story short...I now have it sitting in my driveway.  I won't go into the details of why, exactly, I have it now, and not a year from now, that will soon be coming I'm sure.  Ryan just said it was "Part of his Master Plan."  Needless to say, I am very excited to have more space to put everyone.

Now with all of the that being said, if you haven't noticed all of the gray/black clouds behind the trailer.....well that is what it did most of the camping trip.  We have, once again, lived up to the neighborhood joke, of "if you want it to rain....send the Barfuss' camping."  The funny part is, is that it actually snowed at home, and not on us!  So I guess the joke was on them. :)

Once we got settled, we celebrated Sydnie's birthday with Ryan's family.  She was a little disappointed, because we were never able to have cake and ice cream, due to the weather.  Ryan had told her that he would make her a "brownie cake" while we were camping, in the dutch ovens.  But right after she was done opening presents, it started to rain, and never really quit.  And once it did quit, it was a muddy, mucky mess.

I will spare you the rest of the gorey details of the trip....lots of sick kids, and I will just leave it at that.  But, it will be really nice when we can get back out and try it again.
