4th of July Fun!

We spent the 4th of July with my family in Soda.  It has become a yearly tradition to go and watch the parade and spend the day with the family.  Of course now, we also get to celebrate the twins birthday, as well.

Alexa, Rylie, Sydnie, and Avery also run in the Fun Run.  Rylie and Sydnie have been "training" for the run for some time.  They been working out with our neighbor Katelyn, who would make them get out of bed to go running.  Most mornings they weren't too thrilled, but they were excited they accomplished their goal.

Happy Birthday Hallie and Remie!  We celebrated their birthday on July 1st, with their cousin Hannah.  We went to Willow Park, had a picnic, and then went to the fireworks.  What a great night!

Swimming Lessons 2011

We had another fun session of swimming lessons.  Rylie and Sydnie are getting so much better, with their swimming skills.  We have been going to Gin Manning, and the girls love absolutely love it.

Happy 2nd Birthday Hallie and Remie

Three summers ago, Ryan and Kim got the news.
Two babies were coming; They’d have two names to choose.
‘Tho they may have felt scared…apprehensive….perhaps;
They just made it their quest – not bothering with naps.

Even with Mom taking it easy, they couldn’t wait any more
to start living the lives they just knew were in store!
First came tiny Hallie so sweet, so quiet, she led the way.
Remie then followed, knowing she’d be ok.

Their parents listened with joy to their little screams,
Knowing this was a good sign for their family’s dreams.
The two were whisked away and hooked up to lots of tubes -
Their home in the NICU in tiny plastic cubes.

It seemed like forever before to home they went.
Ryan began to learn what, to his life, this meant.
Remie will often start testing out each new step.
From trying something new, she just can't be kept.
Hallie often seems content - just keeping her eye
on her sister's attempts before she wants to try.

Their unique temperaments have each been fun to see,
having taken their turns at both sweet and grumpy.
And as they both have learned to move about the place.
Being first to make a mess appears to be a race.

Remie goes for the shoes and doesn’t seem to mind
If it’s a boy or girl’s shoe, she is first to find.
And wherever Hallie chooses her place to play
that sweet smile she can give drives any frown away.

While their parents may have gained a few more grey hairs,
These two have truly shown that good things come in pairs.
