Baby Updates - 9 Months Old, Maybe Closer to 10

Remie & Hallie

Hallie and Remie went in for their 9 month check-ups this week.  They are both doing very well.  We finally have ONE tooth.  Hallie broke one through about a week ago.  We are still waiting on Remie.  I guess I should be grateful that they don't have them yet.  I guess they are better off inside, so the doctor says.  They are still not crawling.  I talked to the doctor about it and he wasn't really concerned.  He said if they are not walking by 18 months, that is when he will get concerned.  Maybe we will just skip the crawling stage.

Here are their stats...

Hallie  15lbs 5.5 ounces    5%ile.

27 1/2 inches long    50%ile

Remie  16 lbs 3 ounces  15%ile

26 1/2 inches long    25%ile

This is the furthest apart, in weight and height that they have been.  Hallie is almost a full pound lighter and a whole inch longer then Remie.  Although, Hallie is our picky eater so maybe that is why.

I wanted to compare pictures of the big girls at the same age as the twins.  Rylie and Sydnie were about 11 months in both of their pictures.  But is fun to see who they are starting to look like.

What Have We Been Up To?

So what have we been up to?  Once April and May hit life becomes a little more crazy....and our kids are still young.  I can't wait to see what it will be like when they are older and we have all four of them in something....ugh!

 Rylie and Sydnie have started spring soccer...they are both still in dancing as well.  A typical week for us looks a little like this...after a full day of work.

Monday - Soccer practice

Thursday - sometimes a break (or soccer game)

I am beginning to feel like we are living in our car.  I guess that is one of the perks of watching your kids enjoying being outside and developing their talents.

Sydnie at her very first soccer game - she loves it.  She has already kicked a goal.  Her and Rylie are keeping soccer of their goals.  As of today they are tied 1-1.

Rylie at her first game this year and Sydnie practicing while she cheers from the side line.  Rylie's team has actually started to play positions this year on an all girls team.  It has been fun to see them figure things out.

We haven't been camping yet, but Ryan's parents have.  So while they were gone, we went to visit them and spend the afternoon relaxing in the sun.

Easter 2010

So, I am a little behind on the blogging.  Better late then never right!
  
Our town has an Easter Egg hunt every year.  Ryan took the big girls to it and as you can see it was in the snow!  CRAZY, Oh wait, we live in Utah!  We usually like to go camping over Easter, but not this year.

Spring Break???

We are just getting done with our Spring Break.  A whole week off from work....well the work I get paid for.  This year we were fortunate enough to only have two different Spring Break schedules, Ryan works for USU and their Spring Break was a couple of weeks ago.  Rylie attends Cache School District and I work for Logan School District, in the past we have had 3 different schedules.  (Why we all can't get on the same schedule for heavens sake.  We all live in the same town.)   Rylie and I both had the whole week off.....so the question was.....what to do with all of our free time.  (We couldn't go very far, Ryan still had to work.)  

In the past, we usually go on our first camping trip of the season with Ryan's family.  However, their break isn't for another week, so they couldn't get away.  I should have figured out what the following week had in store when I got a phone call from the babysitter on Friday, while I was at work, saying that Remie was fevered up. 

So it started Friday with Remie fevered and stuffy, a bad night with her on Saturday, and then she finally broke the fever on Monday.  (On Monday we also woke up to several inches of fresh snow. I guess it was a good thing we didn't go camping.)  Rylie woke up on Tuesday morning with her belly hurting.  I tried to blow it off, but she then spent the rest of the day laying on the couch and throwing up.  Wednesday she woke up feeling much better, but then Ryan came down with it that night.  He was up all night, tried to go to work on Thursday, but only made it a half a day before he was home.  Thursday night Hallie then started with the same fever that Remie had earlier in the week.   Last night was our crappy night with her.  Both babies have, what looks to be, two teeth coming in on the bottom....at least that is what it had better be.  We better have something to show for all of this!  

So to date Sydnie and I are the only two to come out of this thing, healthy.  I guess I should knock on wood, I still have one more day to go.  Ryan was trying to look on the bright side and he said, "At least you haven't had to take work off."  I think I would almost rather go to work!!!

9 Months Old

Wow!  Where does the time go?  The twins will be 9 months old tomorrow.  How crazy!  They are such a joy to have in our home. Their individual personalities are coming out more and more.  It has been a lot of fun to watch as they grow and develop each day.  

Hallie is our active one.  She is always talking, bouncing (wiggling) around, and always happy....well most of the time.  I think it is also safe to say that she is our fussier one as well.  She also likes to take whatever Remie has.  She is always taking Remie's Binky or the toy that she has in her hand.  (I think she will be the little instigator when she gets older. We will have to wait and see how that turns out.)  She is also starting to figure out that Ryan likes to tease.  He will growl at her and she tries to wiggle away.  She is not crawling yet, so she really doesn't go anywhere.  He will also pretend that he is drinking her bottle and oh, how she screams at him.  It is quite humorous to watch.

Remie is the more reserved one.  She is starting to talk more and more, but likes to suck on her Binky and just watch Hallie.  She doesn't know what to think when Hallie takes her stuff.  (She better start standing up for herself, or it will only get worse as they get older.)  They are starting to interact more together.  It is fun to have them sit facing each other and watch them "talk."  They both have been wonderful, happy babies...I shouldn't complain!

I was feeding them lunch the other day and I noticed that their eyes were so blue.  Don't get me wrong...I know they have blue eyes, but they seemed to be crazy blue that day.  I don't know if it was the lighting or what, but I thought it would be fun to take pictures of that for their 9 month post.  So don't mind the mess on their faces, (they were loving lunch!).  I just wanted get a pictures that would show their eyes.

So I said that they were happy most of the time.  They don't like their faces washed.  So I had to put some pictures of them being grumpy.

We still don't have any teeth and we are not crawling yet.  Hopefully, that will start to come in the next couple of months.  Although, it is nice not having to worry about them getting into everything yet.

We are also saying "Ma, Ma" and "Da, Da."  They have been talking for about a month now.  I want to say that "ma, ma" was their first word, but Ryan would say that it was "da,da."  It is a little funny.  When they are happy they say da, da, but when they are upset, they say "ma, ma."  I guess they know who takes care of them!

April Fool's

I was getting ready to go to work on Thursday and Ryan came into the bathroom with a smirk on his face. I asked him what he was giggling at and that is when Rylie and Sydnie came into the room, holding half a gallon of blue milk. They couldn't believe it.

Later that morning, Rylie was trying to think of a great way to get back at him. She came up with a plan of taking the batteries out of the remote. We didn't do it before she left for school, but apparently she had been thinking about it all day. (I had obviously forgotten about it.) My neighbor helps me with Rylie after school.  I was talking to her, on the phone and she mentioned that Rylie told her that she needed to go to our house to play a trick on her dad. I then got a phone call, at work, from Rylie asking me how to get the batteries out of the remote. I had to laugh at the thought of her thinking about it all day long at school. We may have to put a little more effort into this thing next year! Needless to say, we are still drinking blue milk.

So it has snowed a ton here over the last two days. When I got the girls home last night, Sydnie wanted to go out and play in the snow. So she got all dressed up and ready to go. Then she decided that she was hungry, so I fixed her a little dinner. I then went to get the babies and when I came back this is what I found.

We love the Utah State Aggies! We have had season tickets to the men's basketball games for the last couple of years and the girls have a good time going to the games. Ryan works with a few of the athletes from all of the different sports, so the girls have been able to meet some of them and even have dinner with them. (Rylie and Sydnie think that is pretty cool.) Last night we went up to see the last home gymnastics meet and we got there a little early. As we were walking to our seats Big Blue was walking behind us. He stopped so we could get a picture. The big girls think he is great, but he about scared Sydnie to death. He came up behind her and gave her a little startle. Once she realized who it was, she was every excited to get her picture with him. Big Blue was even brave enough to hold the both of the little girls. Thanks Big Blue!

Oh, My!

Oh, My I have a lot of catching up to do! It has been almost a month since my last post and a few things have happened since then. So bare with me and I will try to catch up.

8-MONTHS OLD!!

The twins have turned 8 Months old. Well I guess they are actually closer to 8 1/2 now...but who is counting? They have learned to sit up un-supported, YEAH! They have a great time sitting facing each other and watching each other. They will also sit for a long while in front of their toy basket, loving the fact that they can now reach for the toys. It was been a lot of fun to watch. We are still not rolling over. We really don't like to be on our bellies, hey maybe will will just skip that stage. We also do not have any teeth yet, I was hoping that after the LITTLE flu bug we had, we would have at least come out of it with a tooth or two!

A LOST TOOTH

Rylie lost her 3rd tooth. She was pretty excited....once it was out. What a nut!




A TRIP TO THE HOSPITAL

During the mist of our LITTLE flu bug, we found out that the tubes in Sydnie's ears had not fallen out over the last 2 years, so we were going to have them surgically removed. Her doctor said that it would only take 10 minutes....and he was right, but he would have to sedate her. It took us longer to wait for the doctor, put her out, and wake her up, then it did to do the actual procedure. She was very brave. Even the nurse that helped us, she was the calmest patient they had, had all morning! Go Syd!




TWO NEW COUSINS!

On February 24th, my sister Katrina had her baby! We were very excited for her, but we were all very sick and didn't get to go see her....until this weekend. Her name is KaCey James Neuendorf and she is too cute!

On Wednesday March 10th, we got a surprise phone call from my mom saying that my other sister Kristen had, had her baby - 4 weeks early! We were a little nervous, but everyone is home and doing well.

I guess I am the only one that got to hold him - GO ME!

It will be fun to have a little boy running around the house. We went to Soda for the weekend and got to see both babies for the first time. So Sweet!



While we were in Soda, Hallie had been playing with my dad's Pepsi bottle. Only the funny part was, was that she fell asleep holding it. A child after my own heart!

Flu Bug!

So we are currently going through our first bout of the flu with the babies. And can I say that it is pure "hell." It started last Saturday night with the babies not sleeping well. Sunday was much of the same, however by that night Remie had a fever of 103.3. Hallie was also fevered but not as hot.

Monday we had off from work for President's Day (Thank goodness), so Ryan and I just sat, each one holding a baby. We couldn't put them down or even walk away for a brief moment without them crying. Thank goodness for Grandmas!!! Ryan's mom had the big girls with her, so all we had to worry about were the babies.

Tuesday, I stayed home with them and made a trip to the doctors. By this point we were doing the Motrin/Tylenol routine every 4 hours, in hopes of breaking fevers. Hallie has been doing better through this whole thing, but she is so conjested that everytime she coughs, she gags, and "projectile pucks" all over the place. The doctor said that we have the "para-flu," whatever that is. He said that we should be on the uphill side of things and the fevers should start to break. When we were at the doctors Remie had a fever of 100 and Hallie was 99. Yesterday, Remie continued to fever all day. Last night was much of the same. ALOT of rocking, holding, comforting, and trying to make everyone happy. Last night was probably the worst. Remie was so hot and would just cry. I kind of wonder if she also has a sore throat. What do I know....I am not the doctor. The doctor didn't give us anything to help, we are just basically letting things run their course.

Ryan stayed home today, Remie is still having fevers. I called the doctor back and the nurse said to increase the amounts of Tylenol/Mortin....and GOOD LUCK! I hope tonight goes better and we don't have a repeat of last night. I think I may just lose it for real!!!!

I am seriously thinking about creating some baby ambien...or better yet, I may just take one myself, and call it a night! :)
