We love the Aggies!

We love the Utah State Aggies! We have had season tickets to the men's basketball games for the last couple of years and the girls have a good time going to the games. Ryan works with a few of the athletes from all of the different sports, so the girls have been able to meet some of them and even have dinner with them. (Rylie and Sydnie think that is pretty cool.) Last night we went up to see the last home gymnastics meet and we got there a little early. As we were walking to our seats Big Blue was walking behind us. He stopped so we could get a picture. The big girls think he is great, but he about scared Sydnie to death. He came up behind her and gave her a little startle. Once she realized who it was, she was every excited to get her picture with him. Big Blue was even brave enough to hold the both of the little girls. Thanks Big Blue!

Oh, My!

Oh, My I have a lot of catching up to do! It has been almost a month since my last post and a few things have happened since then. So bare with me and I will try to catch up.

8-MONTHS OLD!!

The twins have turned 8 Months old. Well I guess they are actually closer to 8 1/2 now...but who is counting? They have learned to sit up un-supported, YEAH! They have a great time sitting facing each other and watching each other. They will also sit for a long while in front of their toy basket, loving the fact that they can now reach for the toys. It was been a lot of fun to watch. We are still not rolling over. We really don't like to be on our bellies, hey maybe will will just skip that stage. We also do not have any teeth yet, I was hoping that after the LITTLE flu bug we had, we would have at least come out of it with a tooth or two!

Remie & Hallie - Sitting all by themselves.

Hallie, Mom, and Remie

Hallie and Remie - Remie loves her binkie! That has become another way for us to tell them apart!

A LOST TOOTH

Rylie lost her 3rd tooth. She was pretty excited....once it was out. What a nut!

A TRIP TO THE HOSPITAL

During the mist of our LITTLE flu bug, we found out that the tubes in Sydnie's ears had not fallen out over the last 2 years, so we were going to have them surgically removed. Her doctor said that it would only take 10 minutes....and he was right, but he would have to sedate her. It took us longer to wait for the doctor, put her out, and wake her up, then it did to do the actual procedure. She was very brave. Even the nurse that helped us, she was the calmest patient they had, had all morning! Go Syd!

TWO NEW COUSINS!

On February 24th, my sister Katrina had her baby! We were very excited for her, but we were all very sick and didn't get to go see her....until this weekend. Her name is KaCey James Neuendorf and she is too cute!

Rylie and Sydnie loving on her.

On Wednesday March 10th, we got a surprise phone call from my mom saying that my other sister Kristen had, had her baby - 4 weeks early! We were a little nervous, but everyone is home and doing well.

I guess I am the only one that got to hold him - GO ME!
William Jaxson Horsley. And yes he is the only grandson....the poor boy!
It will be fun to have a little boy running around the house. We went to Soda for the weekend and got to see both babies for the first time. So Sweet!

While we were in Soda, Hallie had been playing with my dad's Pepsi bottle. Only the funny part was, was that she fell asleep holding it. A child after my own heart!

All of the grand kids on my side. You have too look close, Jaxson kind of blends in!
Alexa, Hallie, Avery, Jaxson, Sydney, KaCey, Rylie, and Remie. What a bunch of cute kids!

Flu Bug!

So we are currently going through our first bout of the flu with the babies. And can I say that it is pure "hell." It started last Saturday night with the babies not sleeping well. Sunday was much of the same, however by that night Remie had a fever of 103.3. Hallie was also fevered but not as hot.

Monday we had off from work for President's Day (Thank goodness), so Ryan and I just sat, each one holding a baby. We couldn't put them down or even walk away for a brief moment without them crying. Thank goodness for Grandmas!!! Ryan's mom had the big girls with her, so all we had to worry about were the babies.

Tuesday, I stayed home with them and made a trip to the doctors. By this point we were doing the Motrin/Tylenol routine every 4 hours, in hopes of breaking fevers. Hallie has been doing better through this whole thing, but she is so conjested that everytime she coughs, she gags, and "projectile pucks" all over the place. The doctor said that we have the "para-flu," whatever that is. He said that we should be on the uphill side of things and the fevers should start to break. When we were at the doctors Remie had a fever of 100 and Hallie was 99. Yesterday, Remie continued to fever all day. Last night was much of the same. ALOT of rocking, holding, comforting, and trying to make everyone happy. Last night was probably the worst. Remie was so hot and would just cry. I kind of wonder if she also has a sore throat. What do I know....I am not the doctor. The doctor didn't give us anything to help, we are just basically letting things run their course.

Ryan stayed home today, Remie is still having fevers. I called the doctor back and the nurse said to increase the amounts of Tylenol/Mortin....and GOOD LUCK! I hope tonight goes better and we don't have a repeat of last night. I think I may just lose it for real!!!!

I am seriously thinking about creating some baby ambien...or better yet, I may just take one myself, and call it a night! :)

7 Months Old and In St. George

The twins are now 7 months old! They got to spend the day in St. George. Ryan had a meeting that he had to attend in St. George, so instead of staying home, he took the whole family. We got to do a little shopping, ALOT of swimming, and a tour of Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks.

Swimming for the first time.

This is Hallie with Papa G.

Hallie - she loved the water.

Remie

Sydnie being silly.

Can you guess who is who?

Zion National Park. It is crazy to see red rock and snow in the same picture.
Sydnie

Rylie and Grandma Joy - Don't they look thrilled. They waited in the car with the babies while we hiked up to the "Weeping Rock."

Remie with her first piece of licorice. She loved it. I ended up having to put a bib on her and she gummed the thing to death. It eventually started breaking apart and we had to throw it away. She was a little upset.

After we went to Zion's, we drove over to Bryce Canyon. It was so foggy and cloudy that we couldn't see a thing. It was almost like we had never left Cache Valley!!

As for 7 month updates. Hallie and Remie are doing great! We have only had one trip to the doctors - KNOCK ON WOOD! They are still not rolling over completely. They will roll from their bellies to their backs, but that is it. Becky (our babysitter) said that Hallie has rolled from her back to her belly once. So hopefully that will come. Remie is starting to sit without support. She can sit for about 10 minutes, before she falls over. It has been a lot of fun to watch.

We are also eating more baby food, now. Which is a little better on the budget. We still need to get them to eat more throughout the day, I guess that is my fault, cause I am just to lazy, and it is alot easier to just give them a bottle.

Oh - I guess I should give the answer to the question above -
Hallie is on the left and Remie is on the right. Did you get it right?

6 Month Stats

We made it to the doctor this past week. So here are the twins stats...

Remie - 14 pounds 5 ounces (25%ile) 25 1/2 inches long (45%ile)
Hallie - 13 pounds 12 ounces (23%ile) 25 inches long (25%ile)

I did a little research and found Rylie and Sydnie's stats when they were 6 months old...So I thought it would be fun to compare.

At 6 months:
Rylie - 15 pounds 14 ounces 27 inches long
Sydnie - 16 pounds 15 ounces 28 inches long

We are not as far along as the big sisters were, but we are just cruising right along. Both are growing and doing well. We have had our first colds. It actually started with Big Sister Rylie, and then made it's way to the babies.

We had Hallie into the doctor two weeks ago for a bad cough. At the time, there was really nothing we could do. We were still coughing when we went in for their 6 month check-ups and he gave us a decongestant!! YEAH!!! Maybe now we will go back to sleeping through the night!

6 Months Already!

HOLY COW! The twins are 6 months old! Where has the time gone? They are such a joy & a blessing to have in our home. I was thinking about them this morning and when we found out that we were having TWO babies...how overwhelmed I felt, and how that seems like it was yesterday.

We don't go back to the doctor until January 20th. So I don't have any updated weights. However, Remie is still heavier then Hallie. You can tell just by picking them up in their car seats.

I thought it would it might be fun to give a few stats at 6 months.

On average:

* 9 diapers a day (4 of which are poopy) We were going through 20 diapers a day when they were newborns!
* 9 - 8oz. bottles a day
* 1 big can of formula very 3-4 days (we are buying the cheapest ones at 11.88 - I will let you do the math)
* 1 jar of baby food a day...we haven't decided if we like the baby food thing yet.
* Sleeping through the night for the last 3 nights (Priceless!)

We are still not sitting up by ourselves or rolling over yet, but we are working on it.

Hallie and Remie -

Christmas at Grandma Joy's

After we open our Christmas at our house, we go to Soda to spend the rest of the day with my family. Apparently, we didn't take very many pictures. I didn't even noticed until I went to put them on the blog. Very Sad.

Hallie with Great-Grandma Georgia

Remie with Aunt Katrina

The big girls were tearing threw presents so fast, I have no idea what happened to them. Sorry!

Christmas Morning

Santa made it! Sydnie checking out what is in her stocking.

Remie and Hallie watching their big sisters make a huge mess!

Remie and Hallie - Everything they opened, went right to their mouths. It was fun to watch. And every picture I have of them, they are looking down.

All four of them. Rylie, Remie, Sydnie, and Hallie

Sydnie has been asking her dad to get some "Hunting Pants" for quite awhile. We finally found a pair...but I think they are still a little big for her. I guess she will be able to grow into them. She was so excited!

Rylie and Remie

The twins checking out their new Christmas Present. They get mad at it, because they can't get the toys into their mouths.

Remie-the end of a very exhausting morning!

Christmas Eve @ Grandma Shirley's

Every year we go over to Ryan's mom and dad's for Christmas Eve. The kids do a craft of some sort. This year they made real Gingerbread Houses. They were great! I wish I would have gotten some pictures. Although, I think Ryan had more fun decorating them the girls did.

Rylie sitting on Santa's lap.

Sydnie sitting on Santa's lap. Syd was so funny this year. She is so excited for Santa. Which is a big change from a couple of years ago. She cried, and cried, and cried, when she said on Santa's lap. This year I think she was the fastest one up there.

Hallie and Remie

Remie and Hallie sitting with Great-Grandma & Grandpa Barfuss

All of the grand-children on Ryan's side. This is the first time we have had all of the kids together for a while. So we thought we would make them suffer through a picture. Braden is the oldest and is leaving for Iraq in the next couple of weeks. Our prayers are with him and we hope he returns safe!

Santa's little helper. I really don't know which one it is....it is so sad. It is either Hallie or Remie.

Remie's New Trick

Remie has learned a new trick. She scrunches up her nose and then snorts. It is quite cute. Hallie is starting to do it, but not as good as Remie yet.
